Meet Heather Johnas

Heather Johnas is a senior operations and manufacturing leader who drives operational excellence, supply chain efficiency, and continuous improvement across complex, multi-site organizations. At Proterra, she leads end-to-end manufacturing strategy with a focus on quality, safety, and scalable growth in the electric vehicle industry.

Heather has led materials management, overseeing $140 million in inventory across four manufacturing sites, and operational excellence work, partnering with cross-functional teams to build automotive-grade operational systems. She is known for building high-performing teams and developing internal talent.

Before Proterra, Heather spent time in operations leadership at Gexpro Services, overseeing multi-site P&L, ERP implementations, and Lean/5S initiatives across a national footprint. Her career began in finance, giving her an analytical edge she brings to every operations challenge.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Siena University and is a certified CrossFit trainer, bringing the same discipline and drive to her personal pursuits that she brings to her work.
